Becasue it was a surprise, the recipient of the The Lamar Award of Excellence is not listed with the other honors. The Lamar Medal is presented by Valley Lodge #175 in honor of the second president of the Republic of Texas, Mirabeau B. Lamar, who was a Mason and is known as the ”Father of the Texas Public School System”.
This Medal is awarded to educators in recognition of outstanding personal achievement in academics, citizenship, or community service. The 2020 Lamar Award of Excellence is awarded to Mr. Joe Vann. Congratulations Mr. Vann and thank you for your many years of teaching and serving our students.
