James Taylor - RJ Richey Gem for January

Mr. Taylor has been nominated for appreciation by both teachers and students for his unwavering commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment at RJ since joining the team this year. His proactive involvement in campus activities (even dressing as the Grinch, leading social studies lessons as William B. Travis, and rocking daily Red Ribbon week themed dress ups!), dedication to keeping the school informed about safety procedures, and approachable, effective communication make him an invaluable asset to our school community. Mr. Taylor consistently goes above and beyond, ensuring that everyone feels supported and confident in their understanding of safety protocols, all while fostering an open and collaborative atmosphere. His efforts are truly deserving of recognition and appreciation.

"Mr. Taylor does a phenomenal job of keeping our school safe. He is constantly walking around the building and outside areas, checking on things. He has a fun rapport with the students and staff. He always jumps in to help anywhere he's needed. He is such a wonderful asset to our school, and I am very thankful he is here!"

"Mr. Taylor is a perfect balance of serving our staff and students for the safety needs while keeping a role model and motivator relationship for students, keeping them in class and following campus-wide expectations as much as possible. He is always calm in an emergency or new procedure, and Mr. Taylor has supported students and teachers through a variety of situations this year, even dressing up as Christmas characters and participating in 4th grade student social studies presentations as William B. Travis. He provides consistent communication with us about safety drills, security information, weather alerts, and more, helping our campus run smoothly and efficiently. We appreciate the work and joy that Mr. Taylor brings to RJ daily for all!"
