Superintendent Keith McBurnett named 2018 Burnet Citizen of the Year

At Keith’s first community forum after being hired as Superintendent, he spoke of his goals and commitments as a leader and as a community member. At the top of his list was to be a servant leader. In the past six years, he has lived by those words and to that commitment daily.

Keith believes that communities are the heart and soul of any school district and he works tirelessly to ensure that this community, and the surrounding communities that make up Burnet CISD, are in integral part of the district.

On top of his service for the community, he has led Burnet CISD to be very successful. He wholeheartedly believes that students are the heartbeat of this community and strives to ensure that every student has a “buffet” of options that allows them to be successful. In his role as Superintendent he continually leads with a servant heart and it shows in all that he does.

Keith is proud to call Burnet home. This community and school district are a much better place because of his service and his passion for educating students and continuously having insight and dedication to better our community.
