March 3rd is Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day. Thank you to all of our Maintenance Staff who go above and beyond to take care of our BCISD Campuses!

Read Across American is an annual event celebrated on March 2nd, which is the birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss. It is a nationwide reading celebration that was created by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1997 to promote literacy and encourage a love of reading among children.

Each March 1, Texas recognizes Texas Girls in STEM Day. The day marks a chance to celebrate and encourage the participation of girls in this state in fields related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics - and is the result of House Bill 3435, passed by Representative Rhetta Bowers during the 86th Regular Session.

Celebrate Women in March for Women's History Month

March is Texas History Month

On Saturday, February 18th, six Burnet High School students traveled to Lake Travis High School for the Visual Arts Scholastic Event. Nine artworks were judged with 7 receiving a 4 Region medal (top score). This was the first time competing in this event for all of the students. Our region finalists were Josiah Villarreal, Raine Morris, Mikenna Chambliss, Yesica Perez-Huerta, and Kaylee Wessels.

As an initiative of the Strategic Planning Process, Burnet CISD is excited to unveil Staff Shout Outs!  Have you experienced great customer service from a Burnet CISD employee? Has a Burnet CISD co-worker gone the extra mile in supporting you in some way? If so, we want to hear about it!

Thanks to Johnson Sewell Ford in Marble Falls, Claycomb Associates, Satterfield & Pontikes Construction and R Bank in Bertram, 6 employees were each awarded $100 for perfect attendance for the month of January.

BHS Students that qualified for the UIL 4A Swimming and Diving State Meet were recognized at the February 20th Board Meeting: Grant Roberts, Mason Hughes, Caroline Lunsford, Stellan Zollitsch, Luciuz Griego, Hayden Brown, Julia Kratwell, Graciela Lara Duran, Isabel Lunsford, and Aidan Zollitsch

Isabel Lunsford was recognized for her two silver medal performances in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly.
