BCISD Teachers Mean the WORLD to Us! World Teachers' Day is celebrated on October 5th to commemorate teachers across the globe. It is an annual initiative to recognize each teacher's daily contributions and tireless efforts.
Mums the Word! Recently, during the week of homecoming, Burnet Middle School students created mums for both themselves and others to wear. This engaging project contributed to the spirit, pride, and honor exhibited during this week.

Masonic Presentation at Board Meeting In recognition of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, representatives of Valley Lodge #175 presented a U.S. and Texas flag to each of the BCISD Campus Principals at Monday's Board meeting.
School Year Calendar Revised The Board of Trustees approved changes to the 2021-2022 school year calendar at the September 20th meeting.
Growing by Leaps and Bounds! The Shady Grove family is expanding, and this year's kindergarten enrollment has continued to climb! As a result, another kindergarten class was added, bringing the campus to a total of nine kindergarten classrooms.
Bertram Ambassadors Embody Sprit, Pride, and Honor Each year at Bertram Elementary, fifth-grade students have the opportunity to serve the school as Bertram Ambassadors. Students are selected based on leadership and citizenship criteria.
Board Provides Substitute Teacher Stipend In an effort to incentivize substitutes to work vacancies, and increase the daily fill rate in classrooms, the Board of Trustees approved a temporary COVID Stipend Pay for Classroom Teacher Substitutes in the amount of $30 on top of the regular substitute pay rate. This stipend will be evaluated each month by reviewing COVID case counts and substitute fill rates.
Board Extends Superintendent's Contract The Burnet CISD Board of Trustees met on September 7 for the annual summative evaluation of the Superintendent. In addition to conducting the evaluation, the Board of Trustees unanimously voted to extend the contract of Superintendent Keith McBurnett through June 30, 2025.
Homecoming Parade Entry Information This year's Homecoming Parade will be held at the Burnet Square on Thursday, September 23rd. BHS is looking for entries to join in on the fun!
