The Board of Trustees approved changing the last day of school for students from Thursday, May 26th to Wednesday, May 25th.

All Burnet CISD campuses and offices will be closed July 2-11 in recognition of Independence Day and as part of the District's planned summer hours. Have a fun and safe summer Bulldog family!

The Board of Trustees approved the 2021-2022 Compensation Plan which includes a starting teacher pay of $49,610 for the 2021-2022 school year (up from $48,850) and a Midpoint General Pay Increase (MGPI) of 2% ($1,060) for all current teaching staff. Click the web story to see additional details.

The Board approved a Bus Driver sign-on bonus of $1,000 for a CDL licensed bus driver and $600 for a non-CDL driver obtaining their CDL. This will help to recruit bus driver candidates in response to a statewide shortage of bus drivers. Applicants can apply at www.burnetcisd.net

The Board of Trustees recently held officer elections for the 2021-2022 school year. Elected officers include President Andy Feild, Vice President Angela Moore, and Secretary Earl Foster.

Burnet CISD's 2021 Bonds sold on June 28, and the Board approved an order authorizing the issuance of school bonds the same evening. The bonds were well received in the market because of the District's strong financial rating and the current interest rate environment.

This year a group of Burnet High School young women leaders started a Girl's Power Hour group. The goal of the group was to empower underclassman girls by the example and mentorship of senior girls who exude confidence, leadership, kindness and work ethic.

Burnet CISD is proud to announce that Abby O'Hair has been selected to lead Shady Grove Elementary as principal. O’Hair taught multiple grades in Burnet CISD for 10 years, was named Educator of the Year at multiple campuses, and served as elementary GT Coordinator. She most recently served as Assistant Principal of Kline Whitis Elementary in Lampasas ISD.

Burnet CISD is proud to announce that Jessica McMullen has been named Principal of RJ Richey Elementary. McMullen has 10 years’ experience as a principal, most recently serving as Principal of Ford Elementary in Georgetown ISD. In addition to her principal experience, McMullen taught multiple grade levels in both elementary and middle school, and served multiple times as department chair, instructional coach, and as an assistant principal.
