Burnet CISD is excited to present the substitute incentive to Madison Hafley! Madison has subbed multiple times for our district. Substitutes are a vital part to BCISD and we rely on them greatly to support our staff in many ways.

It's been quite a journey for the Esprit de Corps, who started at the end of July practicing long hours for the upcoming season, but the hard work paid off at Monday's UIL State Marching Contest!

Barney and LaDawn Baker were presented with the Community Builder Award by the Lake Victor Lodge #1011. Barney served on the Burnet CISD School Board as Trustee and President for 18 years. LaDawn is the Librarian at Burnet Middle School, and has served in education for over 50 years. It is hard to find another couple who has contributed more to the Burnet Community or to Burnet CISD.

This week, the BCISD Central Office received a very complimentary voicemail message for bus driver Karen Savickas.

All classes will resume on Wednesday, January 6 for the spring semester. The most important step in preventing the spread of COVID is to ensure those individuals that are experiencing symptoms, or are test-confirmed to have COVID, or have had close contact with an individual that is test-confirmed to have COVID, stay home and do not come to school. We are deeply saddened at the loss of Burnet Middle School Principal Jeremy LeJeune. Our hearts go out to Mr. LeJeune’s family, to the Burnet Middle School staff and students, and the larger educational community in which Mr. LeJeune was an active participant.

Beginning Tuesday, December 8, Burnet Middle School will transition to remote-only instruction for all students. This remote instruction window will last through Monday, December 14. Students will be permitted to return to in-person instruction on campus on Tuesday, December 15. All Burnet Middle School extracurricular activities are cancelled until in-person instruction resumes.
