Fifth Grade students at Bertram Elementary celebrated Constitution Day on September 17th by writing a selection from the Preamble of the Constitution with ink and feather quills.

Burnet High School has a great Dual Credit partnership with Angelo State University. Recently, students participated in a "Virtual" Dual Credit visit with their partners at ASU.

Burnet CISD is pleased to announce Matt Busceme has been named Director of Technology for Burnet CISD. Busceme has a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts and Sciences, and has been with Humble ISD for 13 years, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Technology Services. Humble ISD has 43 campuses and more than 42,000 students.

During the August 31 Regular Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a 2020-2021 tax rate of $1.146, which is 3.9 cents lower than the 19-20 tax rate. This approval represents the 5th year in a row of the Board voting to lower the tax rate, and it also represents the lowest tax rate in the history of the District. Between 2015 and 2020, the Board of Trustees has lowered the tax rate by 18.4 cents. The $1.146 tax rate also ranks Burnet CISD as having the second-lowest tax rate among area school districts.

With the May 2, 2020 School Board Election being postponed to November 3, 2020; the Board of Trustees approved an Amended Order of Election at the August 17th meeting.
