Due to COVID-19, new policies and operating procedures for the 2020 season are being put in place to comply with state regulations and to help keep fans safe.

The Board of Trustees approved a resolution authorizing the administration to pay off $1.5 million of bonds early. This defeasance will put the District in a position to pay off even more debt in the Spring of 2021, and lower the total debt of the District to below $30 million. The District’s last defeasance was in 2018. Burnet CISD has the second lowest student-debt ratio among area school districts.

Change requests for the second 6 weeks will be accepted through September 11th.

The BCISD theme for this school year is "Made for This". Local businesses and churches changed their advertising signs this week to support the staff as they return for the 2020-2021 school year.

Due to COVID-19, BCISD will not be hosting the annual Back to School Breakfast this year.

Staff at RJ Richey Elementary took time on their first day back to write chalk messages on the sidewalks around the school to welcome students back to school on August 20!

Burnet CISD kicked off the school year with a drive-in celebration at Burnet High School for staff. Superintendent Keith McBurnett shared a message with staff that was broadcasted on KBEY 103.9 followed by a 3-minute fireworks display.

The Texas Education Agency released the preliminary financial accountability ratings on August 6, and Burnet CISD received a Superior rating.
