Monday, February 18 is a holiday for students and a professional development day for staff. All classes will resume a normal schedule on Tuesday, February 19.

Each year, on the third Monday in January, the MLK Day of Service is observed as a "day on, not a day off." On January 21 students in Burnet CISD have learned about the contributions of Martin Luther King, Jr.. In addition, each campus has been participating in service projects.

Burnet CISD is proud to announce the Campus Educators of the Year for 2018-19.

The Burnet CISD School Board Trustee Election will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Two places will be on the ballot this year: Place 1 – currently held by Earl Foster, and Place 5 – currently held by Andy Feild.

National School Counseling Week 2019 is February. 4–8. The week highlights the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and the tremendous impact they can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. Join us in thanking our school counselors.

January is School Board Recognition Month, and Burnet CISD is joining school districts across the state in thanking these community volunteers for their commitment and contributions to our public schools. The theme this year is, “Planting Seeds of Success”.

Based on survey results and input from the Strategic Planning Committee, BCISD will be installing electronic marquees at Bertram Elementary, RJ Richey Elementary, Shady Grove Elementary and one at 3rd Street to support Burnet High School and Burnet Middle School. Christina Carmichael is in her first year as the PE Coach at R. J. Richey Elementary. She has taken the program to new levels in just 5 short months. Students are challenged, physically and mentally in PE by combining academics with PE games/activities.
