In the past few weeks, sticky note with words of encouragement have been popping up around the transportation department on computer monitors, whiteboards and desks. The notes have also appeared mysteriously on the steering wheels inside the buses.

In honor of Green Ribbon Week, Bertram Elementary will be hosting their 1st annual “Plant the Promise”. This is an opportunity for the whole family to get involved and celebrate a drug-free lifestyle.

Green Ribbon Week is a time in which BCISD and community will focus on the prevention of drug use. Students will participate in fun and educational activities the week of October 29 through November 2nd

Shady Grove Elementary Pre-K students have been learning about our community helpers the past few weeks. The children have learned job titles, responsibilities, and the tools that the community helpers use.

The annual October School Board meeting is held at Bertram Elementary. Students from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades started the meeting off with a song to welcome the Board and audience to their school.

Recenty, BCISD's School Resource Officer Brandon Bertelson in conjunction with Assistant Burnet County Attorney Colleen Davis gave a presentation to Burnet Middle School students on the definition, dangers and risks involved in "sexting".

Congratulations to the recipients of the Burnet CISD Innovative Educator Grant Program! Teachers were surprised today in their classrooms by the Prize Patrol.

The Burnet High School Agricultural Mechanics classes have been commissioned by J Bar Sanitary Restrooms to construct a mobile REHAB TRAILER that will be a tool that can be used by the Burnet Fire and Rescue Departments for use during critical situations.

members from across Texas September 27-29 at the kickoff session of the Leadership TASB class of 2019. Selected by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), the group is participating in a yearlong education leadership study program.
