Burnet CISD hosted a one hour parent meeting on the dangers of e-cigarettes and vaping for young people and how to talk to children about vaping without lecturing. Click the story link to see the short informational video that was used in the meeting.

Recently the Burnet High School PE classes participated in the National Guard SWAG (Something We Athletes Got) Challenge. SWAG provides high-impact events, free to high schools, that push students to the next level. Coach Roy Kiser commented "I was really proud of their determination and pride. Their efforts even impressed the coordinators and National Guard officers."

For R. J Richey Elementary 4th grade students in Mrs. Beckner’s homeroom, every morning starts off with a positive message board. Topics vary from day to day, but the idea stays the same- what can students be thankful for, or how can they make a difference in the worlds around them?

This past Friday night, the Burnet Bulldog team captains walked to the center of the field for the coin toss carrying with them a check in the amount of $5,986.83 to donate to Sonora flood relief efforts which included a $1,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Burnet.

This week is National Start with Hello Week! Last year, Burnet Middle School students trained students and staff from neighboring school districts in how to bring the prevention program to their schools.

SCREENAGERS is a docudrama that explores the impact of digital devices on youth and families. Burnet CISD is hosting a free screening of the 67 minute docudrama at the Burnet Middle School auditorium on Monday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m.
