Our Weekly Campus Spotlight is Shady Grove Elementary and the 2nd graders were busy learning last week!

Beginning Sept. 26 through October 13, Burnet will take on Marble Falls in the 2nd Annual "Battle of the Cans" food drive! Both school districts will collect canned goods for two weeks. The winner will be announced during halftime at the October 13th football game. Please drop off your food donations at any campus or at Central Office located at 208 E. Brier.

LaCare high-need items: canned meat, rice, dry macaroni noodles (no mac & cheese, please), canned soup, and canned fruit
Helping Center high-need items: canned soup, ramen, canned green beans, canned corn, boxes of stuffing mix

It is with great sadness that Burnet CISD announces the passing of School Board Trustee Andy Feild following a lengthy battle with cancer. He had been the longest-serving Board Member with 26 years of service, having first been elected in 1997. He served as Board President for 18 years, from 2005 to 2023. Superintendent Keith McBurnett shared, “Burnet CISD is the District it is today because of Andy’s leadership and life-long commitment to the District, this community, and to Spirit, Pride, and Honor. His passing is a huge loss for our school district and community, and our Team of 8 will miss his thoughtful leadership greatly.”

Immediately after the passage of the 2021 Bond Program, a Bond Oversight Committee was formed with 7 members. This committee served in an advisory role to the Superintendent and met almost every month for the past two years. The Board and Administration recognized the following people for their service to the Bond Oversight Committee: Michael Holcomb, Damon Beierle, Jason Howell, Katy Duke, Lori Ringstaff, Jen Banton, and Elton Heine (not pictured).
