Burnet CISD is excited to announce Carley Carpenter as the new Director of Food Service for Burnet CISD. Carley has a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. Carley has spent the last 3 1/2 years working in school food service for Southwest Foodservice Excellence, a Food Service contracting firm. This job had her traveling across the State of Texas and also across the country. She is happy to be back home in the Texas Hill Country (she is a Lampasas native).

Our Weekly Campus Spotlight from last week is Bertram Elementary: The Book Vending Machine was donated by Atmos Energy and the Friends of the Bertram Library keep it stocked with great books. Students earn coins by showing the 7 Habits and the books are the student’s to keep forever. The Book Vending Machine was dedicated in August when Gus the Gopher, Atmos representatives and Burnet CISD staff officially cut the ribbon.

Board Members, Community members and BCISD Staff members gathered for the Bertram Elementary Ribbon Cutting on October 16, 2023 and were able to tour the halls and classrooms of the new addition.

The 2021 Bond included a new classroom wing and renovations to Bertram Elementary. The 2-story classroom wing was constructed to increase capacity to 700 students with additional classrooms. The Activity building was renovated and the classic building, activity building and the main buildings were all connected with hallways.

At the October 16 Board Meeting, our Bertram Elementary Students led the pledges to the flags.

Board Members and BCISD Administrators gathered for the Burnet Middle School Field Ribbon Cutting on October 11, 2023 and toured the new BMS field.

October 23-27 is Red Ribbon Week and campuses will have a fun filled week of dress up days!

Tuesday- Pair up Against Drugs- Twin Up!
Wednesday- Say Yes to College, Say No to Drugs- Wear a college shirt!
Thursday- Be a Hero and Fight Against Drugs- Dress up like a Superhero!
Friday- Bulldogs Against Drugs- Wear a Bulldog shirt!
