Gems of Appreciation

Burnet Consolidated ISD's Gem of Appreciation for Substitute goes to Mrs. Sandy Arrington. Mrs. Arrington is the best. She is always dependable, flexible, and loves our Bertram students.

Mrs. Lastly has been a BCISD teacher for 37 years, and holds a wealth of knowledge and experience!

Lisa has served as the Bertram Speech Pathologist over the last three years. She has also served as the Speech Pathologist at Shady Grove.

Ms. Zachos transitioned this year from a 5th-grade classroom to our intervention teaching team and has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to our intervention processes and math support for students and teachers.

Burnet Consolidated ISD's Gem of Appreciation for Substitute goes to Mr. David Trower. David has served as a long-term substitute at our campuses and he has done a phenomenal job.

Mrs. Donaghey joined the QHS team this year and has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to our campus.

Melanie has taken on a new role this year as a math intervention and SPED teacher and has done an excellent job transitioning into that role. She has also been tremendous support for the 8th-grade math team by sharing resources, helping with lesson planning, and modeling lessons for teachers, all the while managing her caseload as a SPED teacher.

Matt Busceme is the Technology Director at the Central Office. He has been instrumental in responding to needs at our campus. He quickly jumped in to help set our new teachers and campus up for success at the beginning of the year with all technology issues and has done it in such a supportive, caring way.

Sunya handles our front office with flawless expertise. She directs our school traffic, fields questions from parents and the community, and all with a smile on her face. Sunya is always willing to lend a helping hand to both staff and students.

At mid-year, Amalia took on a new position as the dyslexia teacher at SGE. Not only did she welcome the opportunity to learn a new position, but she has done a beautiful job of keeping the dyslexia program running smoothly for our students.
