Immediately after the passage of the 2021 Bond Program, a Bond Oversight Committee was formed with 7 members. This committee served in an advisory role to the Superintendent and met almost every month for the past two years. The Board and Administration recognized the following people for their service to the Bond Oversight Committee: Michael Holcomb, Damon Beierle, Jason Howell, Katy Duke, Lori Ringstaff, Jen Banton, and Elton Heine (not pictured).

A time to celebrate and emphasize the important role school attendance plays in ensuring our students receive quality education.

Burnet CISD once again received a perfect score of 100 and a Superior rating, the top rating possible, for the 2022-2023 Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). This is each district’s “Financial Report Card” from the state. The purpose of the FIRST rating is to ensure that school districts and open-enrollment charter schools are held accountable for the quality of their financial management practices and achieve improved performance in the management of their financial resources. The Administration will provide an overview of the FIRST rating at the October 16 Board Meeting.

In six different, but inter-connected actions, the Burnet CISD Board of Trustees approved a $42.2 million budget for the 2023-2024 school year, and a tax rate of $0.8742 to support the budget, which is 18.54 cents lower than the 2022-2023 tax rate. This approval represents the 8th year in a row for the Board to vote to lower the tax rate. Between 2015 and 2023, the Board of Trustees has lowered the tax rate by over 39 cents, resulting in the lowest tax rate in the District's history, and also ranking Burnet CISD as the second-lowest tax rate among area school districts.
